OfstedWhat does OFSTED do?

OFSTED regulates and inspects childcare and children’s social care and inspects schools, colleges, initial teacher education, work-based learning and skills training adult and community learning education and training in prisons and other secure establishments. OFSTED focuses on the interests of the children and young people, parents and carers, adult learners and employers who use them. They also encourage services to provide value for money. Ofsted puts children and learners first.

Our latest OFSTED report is available by clicking on the following link: Ofsted Report (April 2024) You can also view previous reports.

Some of the key findings included:

  • Leaders have revised and implemented a new curriculum with a sharp focus on subject leadership.
  • The school has strengthened identification of provision for pupils with SEND.
  • Teachers adapt learning activities well to help pupils access the same curriculum as their peers.
  • Parents with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are highly complimentary, knowing how their pupils receive effective academic and pastoral help.
  • Pupils understand the importance of our school values and ethos.
  • Teachers have good subject knowledge. They use this to help pupils develop new ideas and new vocabulary.
  • There is a genuine buzz around school. Pupils’ attitudes to their learning are very positive indeed.
  • Pupils attend school regularly and the school takes effective action where pupils’ attendance should be higher.
  • The school offers an enhanced range of additional activities for pupils to experience.
  • Pupils enjoy the opportunities to explore and learn in the beautiful grounds.
  • The strong sense of inclusivity at the school means there is no discriminatory behaviour between pupils. One pupil commented, ‘In our school, being different is not bad.’
  • Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school. For example, ‘Our experience of the school is very positive. The teachers are excellent and I love that every child seems to know every other. Our children have been challenged and engaged and have flourished.’
