Local and Lovely - The World Around Us
Our Study
This term, pupils in Eagle Class will be studying the geography and history of our local area. They will be scrutinising maps of the area, learning how to identify places of interest, reading the contours and symbols, and understanding 6 figure grid references. We will discover what makes our county a great place to live in, changes that have taken place in the past and changes that are taking place in the local environment today.
The pupils will explore both human and physical geography, understanding the development of the landscape and the impact of people on the area around them. To enhance our studies, we are taking part in a Heritage Schools Project run by the High Weald Hero Education Programme, and will enjoy fieldwork and class-based study, including creating artwork based on our local area.
