• Extracts from Samuel Pepys' Diary
• The Great Fire of London: An Illustrated History of the Great Fire of 1666 by Emma Adams

During Terms 3 and 4 we will be taking a journey back in time to learn all about The Great Fire of London. We are going to be exploring the big question 'How did London change because of the Great Fire?'. We will be delving deeper into the following points:

• How is London today different to London in the past?
• Placing the Great Fire of London in a larger chronological timeline 
• What happened in London on 2nd September 1666?
• Why did the fire spread so quickly? 
• Understanding the contribution of key individuals towards our understanding of TGFOL.
• Comparing modern ways of firefighting with methods in 1666.
• Why do we know so much about the Great Fire?
• How did London change as a result of the Great Fire?
