The Victorian Era - How does it impact on our lives today?
In terms 3 &4 we travel back in time to the Victorian Era, when Queen Victoria led a time of great change. We explore the world of workhouses, industrial development, advances in medicine and public health, and the development of the British Empire. Looking at this period of time through the eyes of a child, we read Street Child - a wonderful book based on the real life experiences of a child in Victorian times.
Through our studies we will be reflecting on our Big Question - How do the developments and changes of the Victorian Era impact on our lives today? Through investigations, discussion and use of primary and secondary sources of information, we will try to assess the importance of this period in history.
