What we are learning about this term...
The Romans
In Spring terms 3 & 4, we are building on our prior knowledge of Italy when learning about the Romans.
This term we are going to have a focus on History, whilst learning about Roman invasions, Roman roads and Boudicca's rebellion. For English will be exploring persuasive writing; designing a poster to encourage applicants to join the Roman Army, writing a job advert for a Roman Soldier and writing a persuausive letter of application. Later on in the term we will be learning how to write a newspaper report, focusing on the Roman invasion of Britain.
We will be creating Roman inspired mosaics in art, using patterns to inform these. We are also going to be making Roman shields and exploring how these were used in the Roman army..
